| Scholastic
Structures has been making dreams come true since
we built our first school more than a decade ago.
From our factory in Watertown, NY a unique
panelization process is used to create buildings
with unlimited architectural and engineering
designs to meet all of your instructional space
needs. Your
structure begins with the manufacturing of
high-quality wood and steel frame panels built to
your specifications. Each panel is expertly
assembled complete with exterior and interior
finishes, doors, windows, everything according to
your custom design.
With
Scholastic Structures, costly delays due to
adverse weather conditions are a thing of the
past. Off-site manufacturing in our climate
controlled factory also allows for more precision
in construction of building components. Cuts are
true and level, and overall quality control is
better than with traditional construction
techniques.
HISTORY
In
1987, an elementary school in Upstate New York
was totally destroyed by an explosion caused by a
natural gas leak. Fortunately, the tragedy
occurred on a Sunday evening, and no one was
hurt. However, the school district was left with
no facilities to house over 250 students.
Mark
Purcell, President of Purcell Construction and
founder of Scholastic Structures was called upon
to provide classrooms to house the students until
a permanent school could be built. Using a
pre-constructed wall panel system, a twenty
classroom modular building was erected and
ready to occupy in eight weeks. Three
years later, the building was disassembled and
relocated to two separate locations in the North
East.
